My dad made the best cheesecakes, and he always started with this graham cracker crust.  This crust can also be pressed into a pie pan to make a great pie crust.

Recipe type: Pie Crust
Serves: 1 crust
Ingredients
  • 1⅔ cups graham cracker crumbs (preferably the ones in a box that are already crumbs instead of whole crackers)
  • 1½ tsp. cinnamon (optional, I omit for pie crust)
  • 2 Tbsp. granulated sugar
  • 6 Tbsp. melted butter
Instructions
  1. If you have crackers instead of crumbs, place about 14 full sheets into a food processor and blend until crumbs. If you are starting with crumbs, skip this step.
  2. Measure 1⅔ cups of crumbs into a mixing bowl.
  3. Add sugar and stir to combine.
  4. Add melted butter and stir to combine.
  5. Press into springform pan or pie pan.
  6. For a pie, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and bake the unfilled crust for 10 minutes.
