We had a late night craving for dessert (nothing new), but we were out of ice cream, cookies, cake, and everything else sweet (well maybe there was still some Halloween candy, but for some reason that wasn’t sounding like the solution).  It was time to think of something that didn’t require a run to the store for missing ingredients and would be easy and fast.  Solution:  chocolate chip cookies.  I pulled up the recipe on foodieoasis.com.  You may remember this recipe is based on Mom’s yummy cookies.  But when reading through the recipe, I found  a typo and an instruction or two that needed more information and clarification, so I decided it was important to add an updated post.  Hopefully, this will make recreating these cookies easier.  Let me know if you have any questions though.

For a twist on our favorite cookies, this time I substituted 1/3 cup chopped pecans and 1/3 cup coconut flakes for the 2/3 cup chopped pecans in the original recipe!  I also was out of regular semisweet chocolate chips, so I used miniature, semisweet chocolate chips.  Both substitutions were winners.
